The Mabini Town Plaza serves as the mirror of simplicity and serenity of the town
and its people.
In front of the Plaza, everyone will notice monuments of two personalities. One
is the sublime Paralytic, GAT APOLINARIO MABINI. It symbolizes the great
leader who fouth and gave his life for the love of country and countrymen.
Another is the monument of the founder of Mabini, DON FRANCISCO L. CASTILLO
who was appointed First Municipal President in 1918 and was elected in 1919
where his term was for three (3) years.
You can view the blooming narra trees, very green and planted orderly in the
sides of the plaza. Shrubs and flowering plants add beauty to the clean
surroundings. There are also concrete benches for walkers to rest. The plaza
is now surrounded by newly constructed steel fence and also the newly
constructed Multi-purpose Gymnasium suitable for use in any occasions. There
are also newly installed modern sophisticated lights that makes the Plaza
brilliant, romantic, attractive, pleasing and convenient for strollers
especially during night time.
Health services now are rendered 24-hours by the
Municipal Health Unit which provides medical and dental treatment as well as
assistance advice and look after for the welfare of the people. There are also
private dental and medical clinics that give assistance to the people.
In Poblacion, there are the ESCAMILLA CLINIC, owned by DRA. GORMAFE ESCAMILLA,
who gave medical treatment and accept-in-patients. In sitio Manggahan of
Barangay P. Niogan there is the ZIGZAG MEDICAL HOSPITAL owned by the family of
DR. CATALINO IKE RAZA. Near Zigzag Hospital there is a dental clinic owned by
DRA. NAPEŅAS, and near Mabini Central School, there is also a dental clinic
owned by DRA. MARITES REYES DE CASTRO and at the Poblacion, owned by
DRA. ESCALONA. There are also three drug stores located within the Poblacion,
the ITALIAN DRUG STORE, inside the Public Market.
There are five (5) known Ports in the Municipality.
Three of these Ports are privately owned by PNOC-EC located at brgy. Mainaga,
Purefoods Corporation located at brgy. Bulacan, and owned by BULK HANDLERS, INC.
located at brgy. Calamias this Municipality. The other two (2) Ports located at
brgy. Anilao Proper and brgy. Mainaga, respectively are owned and operated by
the government. Expansion of Anilao Multi-purpose Port facilities was undertaken
and now its already operational.
There are two (2) wharves in the municipality, Talaga
and Anilao Sea Ports which serves as miniports for small passengers and fishing
boats. They are helpful to tourist and other visitors who want to visit the
different scenic spots by means of motorboat and speedboat.
The Municipal Nutition Council organized on June 1, 1988
and recognized as per executive order No. 5. s. 1988 with MSWD as the Municipal
Action Officer with the aim and purpose of reducing the degree of malnourished
pre-school children and build a healthy population.
The following are the functions of the Committee:
Give assistance for the supplementary feeding program of the selected barangays
with high degree of malnourished pre-school as well as the new identified barangays
in recent OPT weight conducts.
Conduct mother classes. Assembly meeting to
integrate nutrition education and food production campaign and other dissemination
for the implementation of government thrust and MNC Program and Activities are
also conduct.
Make proper coordination with the different agencies to
seek financial assistance for the implementation of planned programs and
activities.
Conduct surveys, studies, monthly meeting and submit
reports on the programs of the municipal nutrition council.
The POPDEV in this municipality integrated with the
local government officials ask support for ligation and vasectomy services
and the provisions of family planning supplies and in the organization of
community assemblies father, mother and micro-classes.
The Mabini Integrated National Police provides
protective services to the municipality and promote the safety and security
of the people. There are Seventeen (17) personnel of the PNP including the
Station Commander.
