- Our town of Mabini being situated along the shore of
Batangas Bay, the business corridor of the province, is a
potential commercial/industrial areas. The developments of establishments
have started on the eastern side along the coastline of Barangay Mainaga.
Commercial establishments, such as PETRON and PNOC-EC, occupying 19.3790
hectares more or less in Barangay Mainaga and San Francisco, serve as
warehouses and storekeeping points for materials and equipments unloaded by
big foreign vessels to the various establishments in Metro Manila and other
provinces. At present, the BATANGAS TERMINAL PLANT
(DEPOT) of Petron Corporation is now operating here in Mainaga,
Mabini, and Batangas.
- Another Multi-million Industrial firm who invested in
this town is the SAN MIGUEL FOODS, INC.
(formerly Purefoods Corporation). In 1992, they established their flour Mills
Division in Barangay Bulacan. A sizeable amount of revenue from said
Industrial Firm has been generated by the municipality since they started
their operations. Now, they are planning to expand their Flour Mill and to
establish a new Feed Mill Plant Project. Once said projects have been completed,
an additional increase in revenue will surely be generated, from the said Project
by the municipality. Also, it will help generate more employment from the residents
of the municipality.
- The FARMIX FERTILIZERS
CORPORATION, a Feed Mill Plant and located at Brgy. San Francisco
is producing feeds and fertilizers. Bulk Handlers, Inc. a sister company of
Farmix constructed an international pier at Brgy. Calamias, where both domestic
and foreign cargo vessels will dock to unload raw materials and load finished
products.
- The CKU STEEL
CORPORATION, whose Rolling Steel Plant is located at Brgy. Mainaga
opposite Petron Corporation. They are in the process of shaping and cutting
materials as per order.
- The SUNTRACT
CORPORATION, another commercial establishment has established
their Bulk Grain Handling and Storage facilities at Brgy. Mainaga. They
constructed a causeway between the Municipal Port and the opposed 10
hectares reclamation project of the municipality at Brgy. San juan to be able to
unload their products.
- Another Multi-million Industrial firm who invested in this
town is the LUCKY CEMENT PHILS., INC. located
at Brgy. P. Balibaguhan and Talaga East. They are engaged in the manufacture of
cement.
In 1995, one of the Chinese Businessmen, purchased a tract
of land with an area of 60 hectares, more or less, located at Barangay P. Niogan,
San Francisco, Calamias and Bulacan to be developed for commercial /
industrial purposes. Now, that all the said commercial and industrial establishment
are in full operations, it surely bring lots of opportunities for the people
of Mabini in terms of employment and for the Municipal Government of Mabini in
terms of revenue generation, and perhaps, the realization of a dream of having
Mabini a first class municipality in the very near future will be
achieved.
