Way back 1918 our beloved town was born which was formerly a part of Bauan. It is
composed of many barrios and one of these is Pulong Anahao. This name was taken from a
group of palms called anahao that grew nearly at the heart of a community. The name was
suggested by the first cabeza de barangay of the place by the name of Pablo Sawali duly
approved by the native. As one of the founders, he served as cabeza for many years but
because of old age he was replaced by a certain Seyong Hernandez also a son of the
place. This man was characterized as a brave follow and a guy worth remembering. Time
came when the term cabeza de barangay was replaced to teniente del barrio. The late
Cornelio Magsino, father-in-law of ex-town councilor Ciriaco Hernandez and grandfather
of the incumbent barrio captain Eusebio Hernandez were appointed first teniente del
barrio. He held this position for some years and was succeeded herbolario man by the
name Basilio Matira. His vice-lieutenant was Magno Hernandez who later became the
successor after his retirement. Mr. Cipriano Hernandez was appointed vice-barrio
lieutenant and became the heir of the throne after several years.
The next man to lead the barrio people was no other than Ciriaco Hernandez, father of
the incumbent barangay captain. He was known to be a good leader and became popular to
the young and old alike. Whwn election time came he aws fortunately elected to the
position of town councilor under the Nacionalista wing.
The late Andres Magsino was then elected to the Pangulo ng Nayon left by Ciriaco
Heranndez. He didn't serve long because Mr. Graciano Solis was elected on the next
election by slight margin over his opponent. Two years have elapsed and election time
came again. That was a year before His Excellency President Ferdinand E. Marcos
proclaimed Martial Law. Two candidates launched their candiadcy namely: Graciano Solis
and Eusebio Hernandez.
A week before election time, the two candidates were called up by a group of old folks
of the barrio and that conference they decided that Mr. Eusebio Hernandez be the lone
candidate for the position. After the election Mr. Eusebio Hernandez was proclaimed
the pangulo.
In 1982, there was an election for the Barangay Captain. Pangulo ng Nayon was replaced
to Barangay Captain. Mr Lope Magsino was elected on June 1, 1982 and he was proclaimed
as the Barangay Cvaptain. He served the barrio up to 1988.
In the year 1989, Mr. Perfecto Magsino was elected as Barangay Captain of our beautiful
and peaceful barrio.
From June 2000, our Barangay is headed by Hon. Raymundo Magsino as our Punong Barangay up to present.
